Innovate To Investigate

An independent investigative journalism incubator

2021-2023

About "Innovate To Investigate" Incubator

“Innovate To Investigate '' incubator is the fruit of years of collaboration between Friedrich Naumann Foundation - FNF MENA and ARIJ.

The project aims to create a new perspective for investigative journalism and to transfer and enhance the innovative mindset of participants by providing a teamwork space inside the “Innovate to Investigation'' incubator starting with capacity building and ending with producing an innovative, interactive and cross-border investigation with a wide impact. One that is able to reach and attract the attention of the audience. The idea of this innovative work is to design an investigation based on the target audience’s perspective, by providing a series of training sessions for the participants, and enhancing their skills to achieve these goals.

The project period will be implemented over two years, starting September 2021, in two phases: capacity-building, planning and building. Building the idea of the investigation, the presentation method and working on them is not an easy thing, and requires time and effort, and support from Arab and international coaches and mentors.

In the first year, the participating teams will produce two to three innovative cross-border interactive investigations published in the MENA region.

In the second year, the participating teams will produce two to three innovative cross-border interactive investigations published in the MENA region.
