“100 Watts” is a three-year project that was launched by ARIJ and supported by the Embassy of Netherlands in Jordan. In its first year, the project aimed at training more than 100 journalists, content creators, journalism and media students, and professors on audio storytelling “Podcast”, to address vital societal issues in Jordan and promote accountability and reform. The trainees were trained on the art of interviews, writing for the radio, storytelling, data journalism, google search, IJ basic, media ethics and media laws at the end of the first phase 46 podcast episodes were produced.


In the second phase of the project, 24 trainees were selected for a six-month “ARIJ Fellowship for Investigative Journalism in Jordan”, to produce 20 data stories and 10 investigations on vital Jordanian issues. The trainees went through intensive training in data journalism, Investigative journalism, open source, budget reading, advanced writing, searching techniques and tricks and constructive journalism.





In the third phase, 10 trainees will be selected to work with Arab and international investigative reporters on three cross-border investigations published in Arabic, English and Dutch on Arab and international platforms. They will have the opportunity to be among the guest speakers at the ARIJ Annual Forum in 2023 to present their work, and compete for the ARIJ Awards.
