Bissane Cheikh, is a Lebanese Journalist and writer, based in Istanbul, Turkey. Since Jan.2020 El Cheikh is Executive Editor with “ARIJ”, Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism El Cheikh is the co-author of the book ""Shu'ub al Sha'ab al Lubnani"" (The Many Peoples of the Lebanese People), Al Saqi, (2014) along with Hazem Saghieh. Between 2001 and 2018, EL Cheikh worked with the London based ""Al-Hayat"" newspaper, as a field reporter specializing in in-depth coverage and investigative journalism, then a political columnist, in addition to being the editor-in-chief of a weekly supplement focused on youth and education. She covered wars and conflicts in Iraq, Lebanon, and Syria and conducted special reports and ad interviews from across the Middle East. Since 2007, El- Cheikh is a media trainer and consultant with local and international organizations. She is a member of the “International Consortium for Investigative Journalists” (ICIJ).
