Amr Eleraqi

Amr Al-Iraqi is an Egyptian journalist and trainer in the field of data journalism in the Arab world.

-He is the CEO of “InfoTimes”. This is a data-driven journalism content development and production site. In 2018, InfoTimes received the Global Editors Network GEN Award for the “Best Journalism Team” in the category of Small Newsrooms.

-He is a lecturer at the American University in Cairo (AUC) where he teaches the “Data for Media” course. He also works as a data consultant for the World Bank under the Data Literacy Program in the MENA region.

-He has trained thousands of journalists in the MENA region in cooperation with several prominent organizations such as BBC Media Action, Internews Europe, DW Academy and Free Press Unlimited. He is the author of two books published in Arabic: The first one is entitled “Basics of Data Journalism”, and it was published in 2016 by Al-Arabi Publishing & Distribution. The second book, A Guide to Data Journalism for Covering Human Rights Issues, was published in 2017 by Journalists for Human Rights.
