1- How much does the conference cost for non-ARIJ Arab journalists?
The total cost depends on the travel rate which includes: flight price to-from Amman and travel- by -road costs for those who will be coming from Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Iraq and KSA (tourist bus, public taxi or private taxi), in addition to a $250 registration fee for the   three-day event.
An additional charge for the hotel stay in the Landmark Hotel (previously called Radisson Sas), which will host the conference, includes:
Single room:‬ $160,‬ Double room:‬ $‬93 both for One person, ‬One-night stay.‬ These prices are preferential prices for the ARIJ network.

The cost of lunch and dinner on the first day comes to $80, withlunch on the second day costing $48 and $42 on the third day. One person pays $205 for lunch and dinner meals during the conference time excluding the optional dinner. ARIJ can also help you to get preferential prices for your stay in many of Amman hotels: residence costs would be between $50-$65 per person for a double room with breakfast or totals between $85-$100 for a single room.


2- How much arethe registration fees of the conference for non-ARIJ members?
The requested registration fee is $250.

3- What is new about this year’s conference?
The conference includes extensive workshops and practical lectures that are based on the experience of 10 of the biggest Arabic and international namesthat are specialized in the field of investigative journalism in different topics including: workshops coveringthe techniques of preparingfor sensitive interviews, investigative journalism writing basics, corruption investigation in business and the finance world, as well ascoveringenvironmental and customer issues.

Dedicatedworkshops will provide the participants with opportunities to discuss and explore areas related to theuse of computersin journalism (Computer Assisted Reporting - CAR), protecting and encrypting files, crowd sourcing, data visualization and the use of the digital tools.

4- What language is spoken at the conference?
A group of skilled interpreters will be providing interpretation in both languages: Arabic and English. High-quality interpretation equipment will be used to match conference requirements.


5- Who is covered by ARIJ?‬
ARIJ covers the costs of its network members who haveworked in preparing and publishing investigative reports with ARIJsupport and supervision. The supervisors and trainers in the countries that ARIJ works in and a group of colleagues who are members of investigative journalism units in Jordan, Egypt and Palestine costs are also covered.
The network is also inviting nominated journalists who made it to the final short-list of ARIJ awards for best investigative report, for the “Arab Spring Award", 2011.

6- I am not part of ARIJ network, can I still attend?
Inviting non-member colleagues depends on the availability of extra fiscal resources. This should be announced during November.

7- Is the location for hostingthis annual meeting limited to Jordan only?
ARIJ intends to hold the conference in other Arab countries that are to be announced in the beginning of eachyear.
